North Face Borealis Backpack Review

North Face Borealis Outdoor Backpack

Good Points:

  • Laptop Storage
  • Strong & Durable
  • Spine Comfort

Not So Good Points:

  • Water Resistant
  • Strap Re-Adjustment

This really is a stylish, good quality rucksack that delivers on many levels.  Great for the serious hiker and traveller but equally good for every day commuter use.

Lots of lovely ‘bells and whistles’  literally including the built in buckle whistle and a very useful key clip, along with plenty of extra compartments and even more important good strong smooth running zips.

‘spine channel’ on the reverse of the pack itself gives good back support

For computer and tablet users there is a fleece lined lap top sleeve (up to 15”), whilst the front panel pocket is lined and brilliant for safely storing you IPad – (other makes are available!) – or other more fragile items. This is however water resistant and not water proof.

As far as comfort is concerned the wonderfully named ‘spine channel’ on the reverse of the pack itself gives good back support and very useful ventilation whilst the injection moulded straps and suspension system make for  good ‘all day’ comfort.

Fleece lined pocket for valuables and separate laptop sleeve.

Comfort & Strength

Injection moulded straps and “Spine Channel” for comfort and ventilation.

Good for serious hiking and travel as well as general commuting.
